A New Year...A New School...Many New Opportunities!
I am excited about joining the POWERful A.R. MacNeill Secondary School community and look forward to working with staff, students and families to support opportunities for student learning and personal growth, and to celebrate the success of our students and school.
Every year, at the grade assemblies on the first day of school, we remind students that the more they choose to become involved in the school, the more rewarding and memorable their year will be. It has taken me very little time to learn that MacNeill students have a
multitude of ways to become involved in their school and to personalize
their learning. There is likely a class, club, team or volunteer
opportunity available for all students to explore their interests and
passions. This year, I am going to take my own advice to get involved by immersing myself in and then sharing the great things this school has to offer. This is my first experience creating and maintaining a blog, so it will be a new learning experience for me. I am excited to see how it will evolve over the year.
I will use the blog to highlight and share many of the special events that occur at MacNeill. I also plan to post some thoughts on educational issues that I think may be of interest to you. I hope you will check back often throughout the year and join us in our journey. MacNeill is a community of collaborative learners; therefore, you are welcome and encouraged to comment on any of the posts that you read. Together, we can share our thoughts, learn from each other, discuss issues and trends, and celebrate our accomplishments.
I am confident that it is going to be a great year!
Welcome to the MacNeill Blog.
In an effort to strengthen the partnership between school and home, I have created this Blog (web log/journal) that will highlight many MacNeill events and the accomplishments of those in our school community. There are so many things that happen on a daily basis at MacNeill and I hope this blog will give you a greater understanding of your child's school experience. I will also be posting my personal perspective on various educational issues in an effort to stimulate thought, promote reflection and create meaningful discussions. The blog will be updated frequently. Parents, Teachers and Students are encouraged to visit the blog on a regular basis and to read, learn, comment and share in our journey throughout the year.
